VERAPAMIL in Calan may interact with CALCITRIOL in Calcitriol Injection
Calcitriol, a form of vitamin D, is sometimes given to help the body absorb and utilize calcium. Calcium is responsible for many different functions in the body including the transmission of nerve signals and the contraction of muscles throughout the body. Because verapamil interferes with the body's ability to use calcium, it is sometimes given to regulate the beating of the heart muscle. Verapamil can also be used to prevent the muscles inside of blood vessels from contracting, thereby causing a decrease in blood pressure. Calcitriol may reduce the effects of verapamil by making more calcium available for the body to use. If calcitriol and verapamil are used at the same time, your doctor may want to monitor you closely to make sure that the verapamil is working properly. You may want to ask your healthcare provider about this potential interaction if you think you are having problems.

This interaction is poorly documented and is considered moderate in severity.
