Known interactions between the following drugs: Carafate Oral Suspension, Cipro

1 interaction was found for the drugs you selected.

SUCRALFATE in Carafate Oral Suspension may interact with CIPROFLOXACIN in Cipro
Sucralfate may decrease the absorption of ciprofloxacin from the stomach into the body. If this happens, then potentially less ciprofloxacin would be available for the body to use and blood levels could become too low. This could make ciprofloxacin less effective at fighting an infection. If these drugs are used at the same time, sucralfate should be taken at least 6 hours after a dose of ciprofloxacin. Ask your healthcare provider about these drugs and this potential interaction as soon as possible.

This interaction is well-documented and is considered moderate in severity.
