Known interactions between the following drugs: Carbamazepine Suspension, Lipitor

1 interaction was found for the drugs you selected.

CARBAMAZEPINE in Carbamazepine Suspension may interact with ATORVASTATIN CALCIUM in Lipitor
Carbamazepine may increase the rate at which atorvastatin is broken down in the body. This could result in less atorvastatin being available for the body to use and thus, atorvastatin may be less effective at lowering your cholesterol. If these medications are used together, your doctor should monitor your cholesterol levels and adjust your atorvastatin dose accordingly or change your atorvastatin to another cholesterol lowering drug that does not have this interaction with carbamazepine. Discuss this potential interaction with your healthcare provider at your next appointment, or sooner if you think you are having problems.

This interaction is poorly documented and is considered moderate in severity.
