LEVOFLOXACIN in Levaquin may interact with QUINIDINE in Cardioquin
Levofloxacin may prolong the effect that quinidine has on electrical signals in the heart. These signals are responsible for making the heart beat at a regular rate of speed. Altering the rhythm of the heart beat may be dangerous or potentially life-threatening. Levofloxacin is not recommended for use by people who are receiving quinidine. An alternative to levofloxacin may be available to avoid this potential interaction. Ask your healthcare provider about these drugs and this potential interaction as soon as possible.
