Mistletoe in Vogelmistel may interact with DILTIAZEM in Cardizem Injection
American mistletoe is different from European mistletoe. American mistletoe should not be taken for any reason. Chemicals in European mistletoe are thought to lower blood pressure. If European mistletoe is taken at the same time that a blood-pressure lowering drug such as diltiazem is used, blood pressure may become too low. Signs of low blood pressure may not be apparent, but fainting, dizziness, confusion, headache, and an irregular heartbeat could be signs that blood pressure is too low. In general, European mistletoe should not be taken at the same time as diltiazem. You may want to ask your healthcare provider about this potential interaction if you think you are having problems.

This interaction is poorly documented and is considered minor in severity.
