CHARCOAL in CharcoAid may interact with ESOMEPRAZOLE in Nexium
Esomeprazole is absorbed into the bloodstream through the gastrointestinal system. Charcoal may reduce the absorption of esomeprazole into the blood and remove lansoprazole that is already in the blood, reducing the effectiveness and possibly helping prevent toxic levels of this medication if too much esomeprazole is taken. Charcoal is most commonly used as an antidote to remove medications from the blood when too much of a medication is taken or overdosed. Ask your healthcare provider about these drugs and this potential interaction as soon as possible.

This interaction is poorly documented and is considered moderate in severity.
