Kava-Kava in Tonga
may interact with Eleuthero in Ci Wu Jia
The use of kava is discouraged due to serious side effects that it may cause. In addition, both kava and eleuthero contain chemicals that may reduce the blood's ability to form clots. When they are taken together, the risk of dangerous bleeding may increase. In addition, both kava and eleuthero contain substances that may promote sedation. If they are used together, excessive drowsiness, slowed breathing, loss of muscle control, and even coma may result. Kava should not be used -- especially with eleuthero.
