Kava-Kava in Tonga
may interact with CILOSTAZOL in Cilostazol
The use of kava is discouraged due to serious side effects that it may cause. In addition, chemicals in kava may reduce the stickiness of blood components called platelets. Platelets are partly responsible for forming blood clots that stop bleeding from injuries. When taken together with drugs like cilostazol that also decrease the blood's ability to clot, kava can increase the risk of dangerous bleeding. Kava should not be used -- especially with cilostazol.
You may want to ask your healthcare provider about this potential interaction if you think you are having problems.
