Known interactions between the following drugs: Diazepam, Effexor
1 interaction was found for the drugs you selected.
VENLAFAXINE HYDROCHLORIDE in Effexor
may interact with DIAZEPAM in Diazepam
Although the cause of this potential interaction is not clearly understood, venlafaxine may cause blood levels of diazepam to be reduced when these drugs are used together. Based on information from a study involving a small number of healthy people who took a single dose of diazepam after using venlafaxine for 5 consecutive days, this potential interaction does not appear to cause any harmful effects. However, more clinical studies are needed to determine the safety of using multiple doses of diazepam with venlafaxine. You may want to ask your healthcare provider about this potential interaction if you think you are having problems.
This interaction is poorly documented and is considered minor in severity.
