Known interactions between the following drugs: Diazepam, Gaviscon Chewable Tablets

2 interactions were found for the drugs you selected.

ALUMINUM HYDROXIDE in Gaviscon Chewable Tablets may interact with DIAZEPAM in Diazepam
Although the cause of this potential interaction is not known, antacids that contain aluminum delayed or decreased the effects of diazepam when the drugs were taken together in clinical studies. No serious consequences are thought to result, however, and no changes in dosing are believed to be needed if diazepam and an antacid that contains aluminum must be used together. You may want to ask your healthcare provider about this potential interaction if you think you are having problems.

This interaction is poorly documented and is considered minor in severity.

MAGNESIUM CARBONATE in Gaviscon Chewable Tablets may interact with DIAZEPAM in Diazepam
Although the exact causes of this potential interaction are not understood clearly, antacids that contain magnesium may decrease the effects of diazepam, delay the start of diazepam's effects, or both. No serious consequences are thought to result, however, and no changes in treatment are thought to be necessary. You may want to ask your healthcare provider about this potential interaction if you think you are having problems.

This interaction is poorly documented and is considered minor in severity.
