Known interactions between the following drugs: Levaquin, Nortriptyline Oral Solution

1 interaction was found for the drugs you selected.

LEVOFLOXACIN in Levaquin may interact with NORTRIPTYLINE in Nortriptyline Oral Solution
Both nortriptyline and levofloxacin have an effect on electrical signals in the heart. These signals are responsible for making the heart beat at a regular rate of speed. Altering the rhythm of the heart beat may be dangerous or potentially life-threatening. When nortriptyline and levofloxacin are taken together, the effect of either drug on the heart may be prolonged. Levofloxacin should be avoided by people who are taking nortriptyline. An alternative to levofloxacin should be considered to avoid this potential interaction. Ask your healthcare provider about these drugs and this potential interaction as soon as possible.

This interaction is poorly documented and is considered major in severity.

(Note: Not all drug interactions are known or reported in the literature, and new drug interactions are continually being reported. This information is provided only for your education and for you to discuss with your personal healthcare provider.)
