Known interactions between the following drugs: Benadryl Injection, Kava

1 interaction was found for the drugs you selected.

Kava-Kava in Kava may interact with DIPHENHYDRAMINE, ORAL in Benadryl Injection
The use of kava is discouraged due to serious side effects that it may cause. In addition, kava contains substances that promote mild sedation. When it is used at the same time as diphenhydramine, which is included in many non-prescription sleep aids and cold medicines, kava may intensify diphenhydramine's sedative effect. Excessive drowsiness, slowed breathing, loss of muscle control, and even coma may result. Kava should not be used -- especially with diphenhydramine. Discuss this potential interaction with your healthcare provider at your next appointment, or sooner if you think you are having problems.

This interaction is well-documented and is considered moderate in severity.
